Private visibility audit

Dr Alex Redhead

Dr Redhead, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, an orthodontist, from 25 spots around you in London. You come up at all 25, which is good news, but you sit further down the list at every one of them, including right outside your own door on Portland Place. Each dot is one of those spots, and Green means the practice is in the top three there.

So someone near you reaching for their phone to find an orthodontist would have to scroll a long way to see you. Does any practice nearby fare better?

The comparison worth looking at

One nearby practice appears higher at every spot

Elite Orthodontics London came before you at all 25 of the spots we tested, both at your own door on Portland Place and at the spots farther out.

We ran the same search, an orthodontist, from the same 25 spots around you, so the two maps sit side by side.

They are in the top three at 7 of those 25 spots, so a higher placing is reachable here, even if we cannot promise the same result. That turns the question to your website.

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

Most people who find your website already know your name

Almost all the estimated visits from Google to your site come from people typing your name, searches like 'redhead orthodontics'. These are figures from a search tool, so an estimate, but a clear one.

  • Someone typing your name already knows what to type. That search confirms where you are; it is not someone choosing an orthodontist.
  • None of the searches we found without your name brings your site onto the first page, so a parent still weighing up braces does not meet you there.

So what is that parent actually typing, and where does it take them instead of you?

The searches behind the numbers

The searches that bring people who do not know you

Almost all the estimated visits from search come from people typing your name. A few searches without it do reach your site, and they are about braces: one on brace types, one on Invisalign.

  • 'alternative to twin block braces' shows up beyond the first page of results, and it leads to your page about the types of braces you fit.
  • 'invisalign orthodontist' also shows up beyond the first page, and it leads to your Invisalign page.

So the searches without your name are about orthodontics, your own field, and Invisalign is the one already bringing people to your site. Being easier to find on it is the work. Which leaves what we would do first.

Picture patients searching for your treatments around Marylebone being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

About an hour together

We agree the priorities and what Forge will deliver, in writing. It is the only real time this asks of you.

Step 3

Foundations first

Your Google listing and the pages a new patient lands on. Fixed before anything is built on top.

Step 4

Systems that keep running

Kept up month after month. You watch it in a shared table, with a regular call, and your own people kept in the loop.

Work we have already done

Not a promise. The work itself.

Four practices, four kinds of work. Delivered, not promised.

A dental practice near Paris

Every page about implants rebuilt, down to the questions patients ask before deciding. Kept up month after month.

An oral surgeon in Paris

The page patients land on before they book, her Google advertising, and a weekly letter to the colleagues who refer to her.

A hand surgeon in Italy

Every question his patients ask, mapped, then written and linked from his own publications.

A plastic surgeon in Italy

His whole site reviewed page by page, and the three-month plan, city by city.

What stays yours

One practitioner per city, in writing.

For a given specialty. So we do not work with the practice on the second map above, and would not while working with you.

Founder

A doctor who ran clinics, doing this part for you

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
