Private visibility audit

Dr Paweł (Paul) Ira

Dr Ira, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, an orthodontist, from 25 spots around Church Rd in London, and looked only at you. You come up among the first three at 16 of those spots, and first at 9 of them, including at your own door. Farther out to the east and north-east, you sit lower down the first screen. Each dot is one of those spots; Green means you are in the top three there.

Close to you, patients searching see you straight away. Out east, someone with a phone in hand may scroll past you. So what is actually possible here?

The comparison worth looking at

One nearby practice appears higher overall

Ealing Dental Specialists comes before you at 13 of the 25 spots we tested, and you come before it at the other 12. Its lead builds on the spots farther out to the east, towards Ealing.

Same search, an orthodontist, from the same twenty-five spots around you, so the two maps sit side by side.

It is among the first three at 21 of those spots, against your 16, so the gap sits in a handful of places rather than across the area. Which raises the question of who then reaches your website.

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

Most people who find your website already know you

At least two thirds of the estimated visits from Google come from people typing your practice name, like 'orthodental'. The rest arrive on searches that never mention you.

  • Someone typing your name already has it in mind. They only need to find you again, which is a different job to being discovered.
  • Your site does also show on the first page for searches with no name in them, though low down, below the results most people tap first.

So what are those searches, and where do people land when they do not yet know your name?

The searches behind the numbers

New people find you for braces and Polish dentistry

We found eight searches that reach your site without your name. Some are about braces and the practical side of wearing them. Others are people looking, in Polish, for a dentist in London.

  • 'wax dental braces' sits low on the first page, below the results most people click, and brings that person to your home page.
  • 'polski dentysta w londynie' also sits low on the first page, below the results most people click, and leads to your 'o nas' page.

So braces already bring in searches from people who do not know your name, which is squarely your own field and worth building on. Polish-speaking patients arrive the same way. The real question is what you do first with that.

Picture patients searching for your treatments around Hanwell being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

Work we have already done

A doctor who ran clinics, doing this part for you

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
