Private visibility audit

Nilesh Patel

Hi Nilesh, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, a dentist, from 25 spots around East Village in London. At your own address you come first, and at one spot just beside it you are in the top three. At the other spots you sit lower down the first screen, and farther out you fall far down the list. Each dot is one of those spots; Green means the practice is in the top three there.

So someone a few streets out, phone in hand, looking for a dentist, may not see you on that first screen. What does a practice near you look like on the same map?

The comparison worth looking at

Your map holds up next to a nearby practice

We ran the same search for Well Street Dental Clinic. Out of the 25 spots it comes before you at 10, and you come before it at the other 15, so you are ahead on this map.

Same search, a dentist, from the same twenty-five spots around you, so the two maps can be read side by side.

Still, it is among the first three at 7 of those spots and you at 2, mostly out past the ring closest to you. So you hold the head to head, and the question becomes who reaches your website.

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

Most people who find your website already know your name

At least half of the estimated visits from Google come from searches that contain your name, like 'east village dental e20'. Two searches without your name also bring people in.

  • Someone typing your name is looking for your address or your phone number, not choosing a dentist from scratch.
  • Your site does come up among the first results for 'best invisalign east london', so someone who has never typed your name can still land on your Invisalign page.

So which searches bring in people who do not type your name, and where do they end up?

The searches behind the numbers

Two treatment searches bring new people to your pages

Two of the searches we found carry no name at all. Both are cosmetic treatments: clear aligners and whitening.

  • 'best invisalign east london' shows among the first results, and it leads to your Invisalign page.
  • 'teeth whitening east london' also shows among the first results, and it leads to your teeth whitening page.

So the searches without your name are cosmetic work, not general dentistry. For someone simply wanting a dentist around East Village in London, the map is what decides. Which raises the question of where to put your effort next.

Picture patients searching for your treatments around East Village being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

Kept up month after month. You watch it in a shared table, with a regular call, and your own people kept in the loop.

Work we have already done

Not a promise. The work itself.

Four practices, four kinds of work. Delivered, not promised.

A dental practice near Paris

Every page about implants rebuilt, down to the questions patients ask before deciding. Kept up month after month.

An oral surgeon in Paris

The page patients land on before they book, her Google advertising, and a weekly letter to the colleagues who refer to her.

A hand surgeon in Italy

Every question his patients ask, mapped, then written and linked from his own publications.

A plastic surgeon in Italy

His whole site reviewed page by page, and the three-month plan, city by city.

What stays yours

One practitioner per city, in writing.

A doctor who ran clinics, doing this part for you

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
