Private visibility audit

Dr Jonathan Lever

Dr Lever, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, a dentist, from 25 spots around you in Edgware. You come up in the list at all of them, but at only 3 of the 25 are you among the first three. At your own door you come first; a few streets away you already sit lower, and farther out you are usually well down the list. Each dot is one of those spots, and Green means the practice is in the top three there.

So for someone a few streets away, phone in hand, looking for a dentist today, your name sits below the three the map puts in front of them. Is that normal around here?

The comparison worth looking at

One nearby practice comes before you at most spots

We ran the same search for Edge Dental Care. It comes before you at 22 of the 25 tested spots, and it is among the first three at 6 of them, against 3 for you.

Same search, a dentist, from the same spots around you, so the two maps can be read side by side.

Two maps, the same search, the same streets, and their name is among the first three twice as often as yours. That tells you the gap is in the map, not in the practice. Who reaches your website today is the next question.

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

Most of the estimated visits come from your own name

At least two thirds of the estimated visits from Google come from searches containing your name, like 'jl dental care' or your own name. The rest come from other searches.

  • A search for your name is someone who already has it. Your website confirms what they expect. It does not bring you someone new.
  • The good news: a search for a dentist in Edgware shows your site among the first results on Google.

So what else are people typing when they do not have your name, and where do they land?

The searches behind the numbers

Two searches bring new people to your pages

Most of what we found is people typing your name. Two searches are different: one for a dentist in Edgware, one for Invisalign. Neither contains your name.

  • 'dentist edgware' shows up among the first results and leads to your home page, so a neighbour looking for a dentist can land with you.
  • 'invisalign edgware' shows up beyond the first page of results and leads to your Invisalign page, so it sits behind the practices listed before you.

General dentistry in Edgware is already the search that brings you people without your name, and that is worth building on. Invisalign is the one treatment a new patient asks for by name, and that page sits beyond the first page. Which of your treatments should patients find you for?

Picture patients searching for your treatments in Edgware being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

Work we have already done

Not a promise. The work itself.

Four practices, four kinds of work. Delivered, not promised.

A dental practice near Paris

Every page about implants rebuilt, down to the questions patients ask before deciding. Kept up month after month.

A doctor who ran clinics, doing this part for you

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
