Private visibility audit

Paul Kletz

Hi there, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, a dental clinic, from 25 spots around you in London. At your own door you come first. Move away from it, even to the nearest spots, and you sit far down the list, and at four of the further spots you don't show at all. Each dot is one of those spots; Green means you are in the top three there.

So someone a street or two away, phone in hand looking for a dentist, may scroll past you. Which raises the question: what does that same search show for a practice nearby?

The comparison worth looking at

One nearby practice comes before you at nearly every spot

We ran the same search for London Dental Surgery Centre, and it comes before your practice at 24 of the 25 spots we tested, your own doorstep being the exception.

Same search, a dental clinic, from the same twenty-five spots around you, so the two maps can be read side by side.

Their name shows in the first three at six of those spots, yours at one. Which raises a fair question: who actually reaches your website?

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

None of the searches we found uses your name

Of the searches we have for your website, not one is your practice name. The site turns up for wording like 'digest dentist' instead. These are estimates, and we hold only part of the searches.

  • We cannot say nobody searches for you by name, only that the searches we found are not name searches. Your website does reach the first page for some of them.
  • Someone arriving that way was looking for a dentist, not for you. That is the visitor worth building on, and it starts with what they see first.

So what do people type when they need a dentist and have never heard of you, and where do they land?

The searches behind the numbers

The searches that reach you are other practices' names

Every search we found reaching your site is made without your name. Two concern general dentistry. Most of the others are the names of other dental practices, so those people were looking elsewhere.

  • 'digest dentist' shows up low on the first page, below the results most people click, and leads to your home page.
  • 'andover dentist' sits beyond the first page of results, and also leads to your home page rather than to a page about a treatment.

These are the only two that read like someone looking for a dentist, and both land on your home page. Someone in London searching for implants or gum treatment does not find you this way yet. Who you already are, and where we would start, comes next.

Picture patients searching for your treatments around Woodside Park being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

Systems that keep running

Kept up month after month. You watch it in a shared table, with a regular call, and your own people kept in the loop.

Work we have already done

Not a promise. The work itself.

Four practices, four kinds of work. Delivered, not promised.

A dental practice near Paris

Every page about implants rebuilt, down to the questions patients ask before deciding. Kept up month after month.

An oral surgeon in Paris

The page patients land on before they book, her Google advertising, and a weekly letter to the colleagues who refer to her.

A hand surgeon in Italy

Every question his patients ask, mapped, then written and linked from his own publications.

A plastic surgeon in Italy

His whole site reviewed page by page, and the three-month plan, city by city.

What stays yours

One practitioner per city, in writing.

For a given specialty. So we do not work with the practice on the second map above, and would not while working with you.

Founder

A doctor who ran clinics, doing this part for you

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
