Private visibility audit

Dr Maggie Andi

Dr Andi, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, a dentist, from 25 spots around Mill Hill Dental Practice in London. You come up among the first three at most of them, and at the ones nearest you that holds almost every time. Farther out towards Stanmore, Kingsbury and Harrow, you slip down the list. Each dot is one of those spots, and Green means you are in the top three there.

Close to you, someone with a phone in hand finds you easily. From that south-west pocket, you sit below the names that come up first. So what does good look like here?

The comparison worth looking at

Your map holds up next to a nearby practice

We ran the same search for Care Dental Smile. Across the tested spots around you, it sits above your practice at only a few of them, and your practice sits above it at the rest.

Same search, a dentist, from the same spots around you, so the two maps can be read side by side.

Where a patient near you actually sees a name in the first three, yours shows at most of the tested spots and theirs at one. So what happens once someone taps through to your website?

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

Both kinds of visitor reach your website

Searches that carry your name account for about a fifth of the estimated visits from Google. Others arrive without it, like 'aesthetic dentistry near me'. Both are estimates, and both already work.

  • A search with your name in it already has the name in it. A search for aesthetic dentistry does not, and that search still leads to your treatment page.
  • Your site does show on the first page for those searches made without your name, so that is a way onto your site that does not depend on the name.

So which searches are bringing in people who have never heard of you, and where do they end up?

The searches behind the numbers

Two searches don't carry your name

Two of the searches we found carry no name at all. One is someone looking for a Korean-speaking dentist in London; the other is someone wanting cosmetic work near them.

  • 'london korean dentist' puts you among the first results, and leads to one of your team pages rather than to a treatment page.
  • 'aesthetic dentistry near me' shows low on the first page, below the results most people click, and leads to your cosmetic dentistry page for north London.

So the searches arriving without your name point at cosmetic work, which you do offer. That is the service already pulling in searches that don't know the name, and it is worth building on. Which leaves the question of what to do first.

Picture patients searching for your treatments around Mill Hill being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

Systems that keep running

Kept up month after month. You watch it in a shared table, with a regular call, and your own people kept in the loop.

Work we have already done

Not a promise. The work itself.

Four practices, four kinds of work. Delivered, not promised.

See the projects
A dental practice near Paris

Every page about implants rebuilt, down to the questions patients ask before deciding. Kept up month after month.

An oral surgeon in Paris

The page patients land on before they book, her Google advertising, and a weekly letter to the colleagues who refer to her.

A hand surgeon in Italy

Every question his patients ask, mapped, then written and linked from his own publications.

A plastic surgeon in Italy

His whole site reviewed page by page, and the three-month plan, city by city.

What stays yours

One practitioner per city, in writing.

For a given specialty. So we do not work with the practice on the second map above, and would not while working with you.

A doctor who ran clinics, doing this part for you

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
