Private visibility audit

Dental Expressions

Hi there, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, a dentist, from 25 spots around North Sheen in London. Right at your own door you come first. A step or two out, that drops away: at most of the tested spots you sit outside the first three, and far down the list further out. Each dot is one of those spots; Green means you are in the top three there.

So someone a few streets away, phone in hand, looking for a dentist, may never come across you. Which raises the question: is that simply how this area works?

The comparison worth looking at

One nearby practice appears higher overall

We ran the same search for The Park Dental Clinic, and across the tested spots it comes before you at nearly all of them, including the ones closest to you.

It is the same search, a dentist, made from the same spots around you, so the two maps sit side by side.

Their name lands in the first three at clearly more spots than yours, so position here is not fixed by the area. Which raises the next question: who actually arrives on your website?

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

Nearly all the estimated visits come from your own name

Of the searches we looked at, nearly all the estimated visits to your site come from people typing your practice name. One search without your name, 'dentist sheen', does bring people in.

  • Someone typing your name already has it in mind. They are not choosing between practices; they are looking you up.
  • Your site does reach the first page for 'dentist sheen', though low down, so someone searching that way has to get past the results above you.

So what are people searching for when they do not know your name yet, and where do they land?

The searches behind the numbers

Two kinds of search bring strangers to you

The searches that reach you without your name fall into two groups: people looking for a dentist in Sheen, and people looking into dental plans, mostly Denplan and similar wording.

  • Someone searching 'dentist sheen' finds you low on the first page, below the results most people click, and lands on your home page.
  • 'denplan' shows up beyond the first page of results, and the page it points to is your own Denplan page.

So the only search putting you in front of a new neighbour looking for a dentist is sitting low on that first page. That, and the map around you, is where we would start.

Picture patients searching for your treatments around North Sheen being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
