Private visibility audit

Marton Sugar

Hi Marton, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, an orthodontist, from 25 spots around you in London. At your own address you come first. Step one street away and you sit far down the list, and that holds at every other spot we tested. Each dot is one of those spots; Green means the practice is in the top three there.

So someone a few streets away, phone in hand, looking for an orthodontist, may simply never come across you. Is that normal here, or can a nearby practice do better?

The comparison worth looking at

One nearby practice appears higher overall

We ran the same search for The Brace. Across the tested spots around you, it comes before your practice at nearly all of them, and your practice comes before it at one.

Same search, an orthodontist, from the same twenty-five spots around you, so the two maps can be read side by side.

Yet it is among the first three at barely more spots than you. Neither of you is really seen across the area, so those first three places are open. Which raises the question of who reaches your website.

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

None of the searches we found uses your name

Of the searches we looked at, not one carries your practice name. They are terms like 'tonsil stones', and your site comes up first for that one. These are estimates, and only part of the picture.

  • So these are searches where your name was never typed. Someone is reading up on something, and your website is one of the answers Google offers.
  • Your site does show on the first page for the searches we found, and among the first results for several of them.

The question then is what someone with crooked teeth and no idea who you are types into Google, and where they land.

The searches behind the numbers

The searches reaching you are not about braces

The searches we found that carry no name are mostly general information: a tube line map, tonsil stones, and tooth anatomy terms like canines and the upper jaw.

  • 'tonsil stones' shows up among the first results and points to your page on tonsilloliths, a general explanation rather than a treatment you provide.
  • 'canine cuspid tooth' also shows up among the first results, pointing to your page on canines, a term looked up rather than an orthodontist.

So the searches we found lead to reference reading, not your orthodontic work. Someone looking for braces in London does not arrive this way yet. That gap is worth holding in mind as we weigh up priorities.

Picture patients searching for your treatments around Bloomsbury being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

You send a message

WhatsApp or a voice note. Tell me which part of this page matters most to you. I reply myself.

Step 2

About an hour together

We agree the priorities and what Forge will deliver, in writing. It is the only real time this asks of you.

Step 3

Foundations first

Your Google listing and the pages a new patient lands on. Fixed before anything is built on top.

Step 4

Systems that keep running

Kept up month after month. You watch it in a shared table, with a regular call, and your own people kept in the loop.

Work we have already done

Not a promise. The work itself.

Four practices, four kinds of work. Delivered, not promised.

See the projects
A dental practice near Paris

Every page about implants rebuilt, down to the questions patients ask before deciding. Kept up month after month.

An oral surgeon in Paris

The page patients land on before they book, her Google advertising, and a weekly letter to the colleagues who refer to her.

A hand surgeon in Italy

Every question his patients ask, mapped, then written and linked from his own publications.

A plastic surgeon in Italy

His whole site reviewed page by page, and the three-month plan, city by city.

What stays yours

One practitioner per city, in writing.

For a given specialty. So we do not work with the practice on the second map above, and would not while working with you.

A doctor who ran clinics, doing this part for you

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
