Private visibility audit

Tim Meskhi

Dr Meskhi, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, an orthodontist, from 25 spots around Lower Rd in London. Right at your door you come first, with nobody above you. A few streets out that fades: at every other tested spot you sit outside the first three, and farther out you are well down the list. Each dot is one of those spots, and Green means you are in the top three there.

So someone a few streets away, phone in hand, looking for braces, may simply not come across you. Is that normal here, or can a practice nearby do better?

The comparison worth looking at

One nearby practice comes before you at most spots

Across the tested spots, Metro Orthodontics comes before you at 19 of the 25, including four of the eight spots closest to you, where it reaches the first three and you do not.

Same search, an orthodontist, from the same twenty-five spots around you, so the two maps can be read side by side.

Their name reaches the first three at 7 of the 25 spots against 1 for yours, so their map shows what is possible here. That raises the next question: who actually reaches your website?

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

Most people who find your website already know you

About two thirds of the estimated visits your website gets from Google come from people typing your name, searches like 'm dental canada water'. These figures are estimates.

  • Someone typing your name has already picked you out. Those searches lead to your home page, so your website is confirming a decision rather than winning one.
  • The good news: your site does come up on the first page for searches that never mention you, such as someone nearby looking for a dentist in Rotherhithe.

So which searches do bring you people who have never heard of your name, and where do they land?

The searches behind the numbers

New people find you through dental products, not braces

Two kinds of searches bring people who do not know you. Some look for a dentist near Canada Water. Others are after dental supplies: orthodontic wax, a gum gel, interdental brushes.

  • 'dentist rotherhithe' comes up first and takes that person to your home page, which is exactly what someone looking for a new dentist nearby needs.
  • 'wax for dental' sits low on the first page and leads to your orthodontic wax product page, so that visitor arrives for an item rather than to meet you.

Only one of these searches brings a person looking for a dentist nearby, and it already works well. Someone searching for orthodontic treatment around Lower Rd does not reach you this way yet. So where do your strengths sit, and what would we do first?

Picture patients searching for your treatments around Bermondsey being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

Work we have already done

Not a promise. The work itself.

Four practices, four kinds of work. Delivered, not promised.

A dental practice near Paris

Every page about implants rebuilt, down to the questions patients ask before deciding. Kept up month after month.

An oral surgeon in Paris

The page patients land on before they book, her Google advertising, and a weekly letter to the colleagues who refer to her.

A hand surgeon in Italy

Every question his patients ask, mapped, then written and linked from his own publications.

A plastic surgeon in Italy

His whole site reviewed page by page, and the three-month plan, city by city.

What stays yours

One practitioner per city, in writing.

For a given specialty. So we do not work with the practice on the second map above, and would not while working with you.

A doctor who ran clinics, doing this part for you

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
