Private visibility audit

Deb Ray

Dr Ray, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, an orthodontist, from 25 spots around Borough High St in London. At the spot on your own street you come up among the first three. At nearly all the other spots you sit further down the list, and that holds across the ring closest to you as well as farther out. Each dot is one of those spots; Green means you are in the top three there.

So someone a few streets away, phone in hand, looking for braces or aligners, may well scroll past you. Which raises a fair question: is that normal here?

The comparison worth looking at

One nearby practice appears higher overall

Sensu London Bridge comes before you at all 25 tested spots, including the one at your own door, where you both sit among the first three and it sits just above you.

This is the same orthodontist search, run from the same 25 spots around you, so the two maps read side by side.

Yet it reaches the first three at barely more spots than you do, so neither of you is seen across the area. Those first three spots are still in play, which brings us to who actually reaches your website.

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

Both kinds of visitor reach your website

Roughly half of the estimated visits from Google come from people typing your name, like 'bridge dental'. The rest come from searches that never mention it. Both groups arrive.

  • Someone searching your name has already decided to look you up. Someone searching 'dentist bridge near me' has not, and your site does reach the first page there.
  • So your website is already doing two jobs: confirming you for people who know you, and introducing you to people who are still choosing.

The second group is the one worth following. What are they actually typing, and where do they land?

The searches behind the numbers

Two bridge searches already bring new people in

Three searches without your name reach your site. One is a near-miss spelling of it. The other two are people looking for a dental bridge.

  • 'dentist bridge teeth' puts you among the first results, and it leads to your home page rather than to a page about bridge work.
  • 'dentist bridge near me' also puts you among the first results, and again it is your home page that it leads to.

So the new people arriving are after bridge treatment, which is your own field, and they meet a home page. A page that answers that question would hold them. Which leaves what we would do first.

Picture patients searching for your treatments around The Borough being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

Kept up month after month. You watch it in a shared table, with a regular call, and your own people kept in the loop.

Work we have already done

Not a promise. The work itself.

Four practices, four kinds of work. Delivered, not promised.

See the projects
A dental practice near Paris

Every page about implants rebuilt, down to the questions patients ask before deciding. Kept up month after month.

An oral surgeon in Paris

The page patients land on before they book, her Google advertising, and a weekly letter to the colleagues who refer to her.

A hand surgeon in Italy

Every question his patients ask, mapped, then written and linked from his own publications.

A plastic surgeon in Italy

His whole site reviewed page by page, and the three-month plan, city by city.

What stays yours

One practitioner per city, in writing.

For a given specialty. So we do not work with the practice on the second map above, and would not while working with you.

Founder

A doctor who ran clinics, doing this part for you

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
