Private visibility audit

Erika Sabkauskiene

Hi Erika, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, an orthodontist, from 25 spots around Lee High Rd in London. Close to your door you come up among the first three, but that holds at only two of the 25 spots. Farther out you sit lower down, and often well down the list. Each dot is one of those spots; Green means you are in the top three there.

So someone a few streets away, phone in hand, looking for an orthodontist, may never come across you. How far does that go here?

The comparison worth looking at

One nearby practice appears higher at most spots

Total Orthodontics Lewisham comes before you at 20 of the 25 spots we tested, close to you and farther out, including at your own street and up towards New Cross and East Greenwich.

Same search, an orthodontist, from the same twenty-five spots around you, so the two maps sit side by side.

They are among the first three at far more of those spots than you are. That tells you what is achievable here, though nobody can promise the same. So who is actually reaching your website?

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

Most of the estimated visits come from your own name

About two thirds of the estimated visits your site gets from Google come from people typing your practice name. The rest search things like 'dentist hither green'. These figures are an estimate.

  • Someone typing your name has already heard of you. Someone searching for a dentist nearby has not, and that is a different person with a different question.
  • The good news: your site does come up on the first page for searches that never mention your name, and among the first results for a couple of them.

So which of those searches never mention your name, and where do they lead?

The searches behind the numbers

Searches for a dentist in Lewisham reach you

Five of the searches we found carry no name. Some are for a dentist near Hither Green and Lewisham, others for teeth whitening, and one for an orthodontist in Lewisham.

  • 'dentist hither green' shows up among the first results, and leads to your home page, a good start for someone who does not know you yet.
  • 'orthodontist lewisham' sits low on the first page, below the results most people click, and leads to your orthodontics page in Lewisham.

So searches for general dental care do bring you up, while the search for orthodontics around Lee High Rd puts you below the practices most people click. Worth building on your Lewisham orthodontics page first.

Picture patients searching for your treatments around Hither Green being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
