Private visibility audit

Dr Manish Bose

Dr Bose, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, an orthodontist, from 25 spots around The Avenue in London. At your own address you come up among the first three. Move away from the door and that falls off quickly: at nearly all the other spots you sit lower down or far down the list. Each dot is one of those spots, and Green means you are in the top three there.

So someone a few streets away, phone in hand, looking for an orthodontist may never come across you. Is that just how this area is?

The comparison worth looking at

One nearby practice appears higher at every spot

Straight Talk Orthodontics comes before you at every one of the tested spots, including right outside your door and at each of the spots closest to you.

Same search, an orthodontist, from the same twenty-five spots around you, so the two maps can be read side by side.

They are among the first three at far more spots than you, which shows what is reachable here. The question then becomes what happens when someone opens your website.

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

Both kinds of visitor reach your website

Your name brings at least a good share of the estimated visits from Google. The rest come from other searches, including ones like 'dental implants ealing' with no name attached. These are estimates.

  • Someone typing your name already knows it. Someone searching for implants in Ealing may not, and your site still comes up among the first results for them.
  • That second group matters most for growth. They are choosing between practices on the page in front of them, and you are on it.

So which of those searches without your name bring people in, and where do they land once they arrive?

The searches behind the numbers

Searches without your name ask about implants and whitening

Six of the searches here carry no name. Several are about dental implants, in Ealing and across London. One is about teeth whitening. Both lead to your own pages.

  • Someone searching 'dental implants ealing' sees you among the first results, and lands on your home page rather than on your implant page.
  • 'west london teeth whitening' also puts you among the first results, and takes that person straight to your teeth whitening page.

So the searches without your name ask about implants, not braces. Someone wanting straight teeth around The Avenue does not reach you this way yet. Worth holding in mind as we set priorities.

Picture patients searching for your treatments around Perivale being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

Work we have already done

Not a promise. The work itself.

Four practices, four kinds of work. Delivered, not promised.

A dental practice near Paris

Every page about implants rebuilt, down to the questions patients ask before deciding. Kept up month after month.

An oral surgeon in Paris

The page patients land on before they book, her Google advertising, and a weekly letter to the colleagues who refer to her.

A hand surgeon in Italy

Every question his patients ask, mapped, then written and linked from his own publications.

A plastic surgeon in Italy

His whole site reviewed page by page, and the three-month plan, city by city.

What stays yours

One practitioner per city, in writing.

For a given specialty. So we do not work with the practice on the second map above, and would not while working with you.

A doctor who ran clinics, doing this part for you

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
