Private visibility audit

Dr Imran Maan

Dr Maan, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, a dentist, from 25 spots around Cranford in Hounslow. Right by you and at a few nearby spots, you come up among the first three. Further out, across the edges of the area we tested, you sit lower down or far down the list. Each dot is one of those spots; Green means you are in the top three there.

So someone a few streets out, phone in hand, looking for a dentist, may never come across you. What does a practice near you look like on the same map?

The comparison worth looking at

One nearby practice appears higher overall

Running the same search, Claradent Dental Care comes ahead of your practice at 24 of the 25 spots we tested, and your practice comes ahead of it at the other one.

We ran the same search, a dentist, from the same twenty-five spots around your practice, so the two maps sit side by side.

Its name shows in the first three at 16 of those spots, against 5 for yours, so across the area it is the name on screen more often than you. So who is actually landing on your website?

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

Most searches reach your website without your name in them

Only a small part of the estimated visits from Google comes from people typing your name. Most of the rest comes from questions like 'dental implants process' or 'what age do kids lose teeth'.

  • A search with your name comes from someone who already has it. A question about implants or a child's teeth does not carry it: those pages are where that person meets you for the first time.
  • For a search without your name, your site does reach the first page, and for a few of those questions it sits among the first results.

So which of those questions are actually bringing people to you, and where do they land when they arrive?

The searches behind the numbers

New people reach you through implants and Invisalign

Eight searches reach your site without your name. Some are about dental implants, one about Invisalign, and several are general questions about teeth, children's teeth and NHS charges.

  • 'dental implants process' shows low on the first page, below the results most people click, and leads to your guide on the complete dental implants procedure timeline.
  • 'dentist hounslow' also shows low on the first page, below the results most people click, and takes that person straight to your home page.

Implants are where searches without your name already find you, and that is the part worth building on. Someone searching for a dentist nearby does reach you, though sitting low on the page means other names sit above you. So who already knows you?

Picture patients searching for your treatments around Cranford being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

A dental practice near Paris

Every page about implants rebuilt, down to the questions patients ask before deciding. Kept up month after month.

An oral surgeon in Paris

The page patients land on before they book, her Google advertising, and a weekly letter to the colleagues who refer to her.

Every question his patients ask, mapped, then written and linked from his own publications.

A plastic surgeon in Italy

His whole site reviewed page by page, and the three-month plan, city by city.

What stays yours

One practitioner per city, in writing.

A doctor who ran clinics, doing this part for you

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
