Private visibility audit

Hetal Patel

Hi Hetal, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, a dentist, from 25 spots around Streatfield Rd in Harrow. Right at your own door you come first. Just beyond it, the picture changes: at every other tested spot you sit far down the list. Each dot on the map is one of those spots, and Green means the practice is in the top three there.

So someone a few streets away, phone in hand, looking for a dentist may scroll past you entirely. How far does a practice near you reach?

The comparison worth looking at

One nearby practice appears higher at most spots

We ran the same search for EgoDent Dental & Medical Clinic. It comes before your practice at most of the tested spots, and your practice comes before it at the rest.

This is the same search for a dentist, made from the same spots around you, so the two maps read side by side.

Yet it reaches the first three at barely more spots than you do. So neither of you is seen across the area: the first three are open here. The next question is who reaches your website.

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

Most of the estimated visits come from searches with your name

At least half of the estimated visits from Google come from people typing your practice name, like 'streatfield dental surgery'. The other searches we can see are questions about teeth, with no name in them.

  • A search with your name comes from someone who already has it. A search asking how to remove stains from teeth does not carry it, and that is a different patient altogether.
  • Your page on removing stains from teeth does reach the first page for one of those questions, though it sits low down, below the results most people click.

So what are those questions, and where do they land people who have never heard of you?

The searches behind the numbers

The searches without your name are asking about stains

Most of the searches reaching you without your name are about stained teeth, asked as questions. A couple more concern whitening and replacing a missing tooth.

  • 'how to remove stains from teeth instantly' shows low on the first page, below the results most people click, and leads to your page on removing stains from teeth.
  • 'teeth whitening harrow' shows low on the first page, below the results most people click, and leads to your teeth whitening page.

These are general dentistry questions, which is your field, so the pattern is encouraging. Whitening in Harrow is the one search that names your town. Strengthen that, and more local people can find you. So where would we start?

Picture patients searching for your treatments in Harrow being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

Systems that keep running

Kept up month after month. You watch it in a shared table, with a regular call, and your own people kept in the loop.

Work we have already done

Not a promise. The work itself.

Four practices, four kinds of work. Delivered, not promised.

A dental practice near Paris

Every page about implants rebuilt, down to the questions patients ask before deciding. Kept up month after month.

An oral surgeon in Paris

The page patients land on before they book, her Google advertising, and a weekly letter to the colleagues who refer to her.

A hand surgeon in Italy

Every question his patients ask, mapped, then written and linked from his own publications.

A plastic surgeon in Italy

His whole site reviewed page by page, and the three-month plan, city by city.

What stays yours

One practitioner per city, in writing.

For a given specialty. So we do not work with the practice on the second map above, and would not while working with you.

A doctor who ran clinics, doing this part for you

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
