Private visibility audit

Ankit Gupta

Dr Gupta, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, a cosmetic dentist, from 25 spots around High St in Hounslow. Close to you, you hold up well: you are in the first three at most of the nearby spots, and first at your own door. Farther out, towards Whitton, Strawberry Hill and St Margarets, you slip down the list. Each dot is one of those spots; Green means you are in the top three there.

So someone in Whitton or St Margarets looking for cosmetic work may never come across you, while your own streets are a presence worth protecting. How far can a practice here reach?

The comparison worth looking at

Your map holds up next to a nearby practice

We ran the same search for Bridge Dental Practice & Cosmetic Studio. It comes before you at 11 of the 25 spots we tested, and you come before it at the other 14.

Same search, a cosmetic dentist, from the same twenty-five spots around you, so the two maps read side by side.

So on your own streets the map is working for you, and someone close by looking for a cosmetic dentist can already find you. The question moves to your website: which searches bring people to it?

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

Many of your searches come from people not typing your name

Of the searches we looked at, a good part of your estimated visits from Google comes from people who never typed your name, like 'dentist hounslow'. This is an estimate, not a count of visits.

  • Someone searching for a dentist in Hounslow has not chosen you yet. Your site shows up among the first results for that search, so they can find you while still deciding.
  • A search with your name is different: it comes from someone already looking for your details. Both kinds of search lead to you.

So which searches bring you people who have never heard of you, and where do they land?

The searches behind the numbers

The searches that bring you people who do not know you

Four of the searches we found do not carry your name. Two are near-misspellings of it. The other two are someone simply looking for a dentist in Hounslow.

  • 'dentist hounslow' shows up among the first results and leads to your home page, so a person with no dentist yet lands on your front door.
  • 'dentist hounslow high street' also shows up among the first results and leads to your home page, which is the nearest thing to someone searching your part of town.

Both of these are general dentist searches, and they arrive at your home page. Among the searches we found, none is for cosmetic work around High St. Your home page is doing all the welcoming on its own. Which raises the question of where to put your effort first.

Picture patients searching for your treatments in Hounslow being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
