Private visibility audit

Masoud Tajmehr

Hi Masoud, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, a dental clinic, from 25 spots around Droylsden Rd in Manchester. Your listing comes up in the results at all of them, but it sits outside the first three at nearly every spot, including the eight closest to you. Only at your own door are you among the first three. Each dot is one of those spots; Green means your listing is in the top three there.

So someone a few streets away, searching on their phone for braces, finds you far down the list rather than in the three names shown first. Which raises the question: what is possible here?

The comparison worth looking at

One nearby practice comes before you at every spot

Droylsden Road Dental Practice comes before you at all 25 of the spots we tested, including the one at your own door, where it sits first and you sit just below it.

Same search, same 25 spots around your practice, so the two maps can be read side by side.

Its listing is among the first three at a handful of those spots, yours at one, so most of the area shows neither of you to a patient scrolling for a brace. Which leaves your website doing the work.

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

Most of your website's search visits come from searches without your name

None of the searches we looked at uses your practice name. About two thirds of the estimated visits from Google come from searches like 'orthodontics manchester', made by people looking for treatment.

  • That matters: someone typing your name has already decided. These searches name a treatment and a city instead, so your pages have to make the case.
  • Your site reaches Google's first page for that busiest search. A few others, such as 'braces manchester', sit beyond the first page, where far fewer people look.

So the question becomes: which searches are bringing those visits, and where do they land?

The searches behind the numbers

Brace searches are what bring your website visits

These are searches with no name in them: someone looking for orthodontics in Manchester, or for a particular kind of brace. They land on your home page or on a treatment page.

  • 'orthodontics manchester' reaches the first page and leads to your home page, where someone meets the practice and the practitioner straight away.
  • 'invisible braces manchester' sits low on the first page, below the results most people click, and leads to your Invisalign page.

So the estimated visits are arriving through orthodontics, which is exactly your field. The home page search is the one already doing that work and worth building on. Whether those visits turn into enquiries is the next question.

Picture patients searching for your treatments in Manchester being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

A doctor who ran clinics, doing this part for you

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
