Private visibility audit

The Smile Dr

Hi there, let’s look at your local visibility.

We ran the same search, a dentist, from 25 spots around King's Court in Manchester. On the doorstep you come up among the first three. Move a street or two away and you sit far down the list, at every one of the other spots we tested. Each dot is one of those spots; Green means the practice is in the top three there.

So someone with a phone a few streets away, looking for a dentist, may never come across you at all. What would it take to show up out there?

The comparison worth looking at

One nearby practice appears higher overall

When someone nearby searches for a dentist, Manchester Dental Practice comes before you at every one of the spots we tested, including the one at your own door.

Same search, a dentist, run from the same twenty-five spots around you, so the two maps sit side by side.

Yet it reaches the first three at just one of those spots, as few as you do. The next question is who actually reaches your website.

Each dot is a tested search location. Green means a top-three position for that search. The comparison concerns search visibility, not the quality of care.

Beyond the map

Most people find your website without knowing your name

None of the searches we looked at uses your practice name. People arrive after typing things like 'doctor teeth', and nearly all the estimated visits from Google come that way. These are estimates, not counted visits.

  • That is a real strength. Someone with toothache, who has never heard of you, types a plain search and your listing is the first one shown on the map.
  • Two of those searches sit low on the first page, below the results most people click. Moving them up is work on the pages themselves, not on your name.

So what are people actually typing when they do not know you, and where do they land on your site?

The searches behind the numbers

The searches bringing you new people do not name a treatment

The searches reaching your site without your name are mostly variations on words like doctor, smile and teeth, plus one about restorative treatment. They land on your home page rather than a treatment page.

  • 'doctor teeth' brings the most estimated visits and leads to your home page, so someone searching those words meets your front door rather than a treatment they were looking for.
  • 'restorative teeth treatment' sits beyond the first page, leading to your restorative dentistry page, so a patient wanting that work is unlikely to find it there.

These are all your own dental pages, so the work is yours. But none of these searches names a treatment someone is ready to book. A person wanting cosmetic or restorative dentistry around King's Court does not arrive this way yet. What would we do about it?

Picture patients searching for your treatments in Manchester being able to find you.

Here is what already works for you, and what we would fix first.

None of this is about your care. It is about who sees your name first.

You stay with your patients. We carry this part.

Patients choose before they call: from the first names on the map, from the first results on Google. My team rebuilds what decides that, your Google listing and the pages a patient lands on, and keeps it up every month. Here is what happens if you reply.

Work we have already done

Not a promise. The work itself.

Four practices, four kinds of work. Delivered, not promised.

A doctor who ran clinics, doing this part for you

I'm a doctor. I used to run a group of clinics, and I know this part of the job is not why anyone chooses medicine. Today my team does it for practices like yours: the research, the writing and the set-up. You come in only where clinical knowledge matters.

Got a question?

A few things you may be wondering

The questions practitioners actually ask me after a page like this.

What would you do first for my practice?

We already have a website, an agency or someone who watches this. Do we start again?

Will this bring the right patients, or just more enquiries?

I searched myself and saw something different. Why?

What does it cost, and how long before something changes?

Do you work with the practice you compared me with?
